How To Clean Your Make-up Brushes

Cleaning your makeup brushes is essential to keeping them lasting for years. There are many products available on the market today to clean your make-up brushes with. Some people say to just use some shampoo, but this method can be quite a hassle when you need to use the brush right away, also this method does not thoroughly disinfect the bristles, spreading bacteria back into your skin and the makeup itself.

Certain brushes should be cleaned daily such as foundation or concealer brushes. This will make the application of these cosmetics more flawless and will prevent spreading of bacteria which can cause unwanted blemishes. Using Plain shampoo can take time to apply and dry the brushes out, so here at The Brush Company we recommend using a cleaner specifically made for just for Makeup brushes. Our makeup artist here have searched far and wide for the best make-up brush cleaner money can buy. We have found Parian Spirit cleaner to be far superior to any brand including very expensive department store brands.

Parian Spirit is made with all natural ingredients so it is environmentally friendly. It has been found to have the strongest disinfecting properties among other leading brands, Yet it is gentle on the bristles. I have personally found my brush bristles getting softer with continued use. This is due to the natural moisturizing properties of the cleaner, you can even spray Parian Spirit on your skin and watch how it just disappears leaving your skin soft. This is very important for natural brush bristle such as sable or Italian Badger, because just like human hair these also need to be conditioned to keep them soft and subtle.

For quick cleaning jobs of your makeup brushes it takes less than one minute and you can use your brush again. Just hold your makeup brush upside down and spray the bristles to saturate them just a little bit. It takes about ten seconds to dry and your brush is ready to go.

How to use a foundation brush.
With stick and cream formulas, pick up an ample amount of foundation with flat edge of brush and apply to face. Start around the nose and mouth and blend out to the rest of the face as needed. With liquid formulas, dot foundation on face with fingers and use brush to blend. Pour a small amount of foundation (assuming you are using a liquid) onto the back of your hand. Pick up some foundation with the brush. If you prefer light coverage, dip only one side of the brush in the makeup. If you want fuller coverage, use both sides of the brush to pick up the makeup.

Caring for Your Foundation Brush
Once you know how to use a foundation brush, you'll also want to take note of how to keep it clean. Cleaning all of your makeup brushes is imperative in order to keep them bacteria-free. Lingering bacteria not only poses the risk of causing acne breakouts, it also generally suggests that there is excess makeup building up on the brush.
